1 hurt when small plane crashes at airport near Covington
One person was hurt in a small plane crash near Covington late Friday morning. At 11:09 a.m., crews from Black Diamond Fire & Rescue were called to Crest Airfield at 29300 179th Place Southeast, according to @ZONE3PIOs . They arrived to find a plane that appeared to have gone off the runway and overturned in the grass. One person exited the plane with minor injuries, and a small fuel leak was cleaned up. As of 1 p.m., the runway remained closed due to the incident. Crews from Mountain View Fire & Rescue, King County Medic One, the King County Sheriff's Office, and the Covington Police Department also responded. Details about what caused the crash are not yet known.
