AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One person died following an early morning crash in Manor, authorities said. Around 4:37 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of U.S. 290 and Old Kimbro Road just east of Manor. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a vehicle in the middle of the roadway and another off the roadway in a fence line.  The driver of the first vehicle was identified as Carlos David Martinez Sanchez, and according to the Manor Police Department, was taken into custody for driving with no license. The passenger was identified as Juan Carlos Martinez Soria. Both were not injured and remained on scene after the crash, the agency said. Police identified the driver of the second vehicle as Brenda Ewer, of Elgin. Brenda was extradited and taken by STAR Flight to a local hospital and is in stable condition, the agency said. The passenger in that vehicle, identified as William Ewer, of Eglin, died at the scene. At the time of the crash, a traffic alert stated all westbound lanes of U.S. 290 were blocked at Old Kimbro Road. All lanes reopened shortly after 10 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Transportation. This is an ongoing investigation.
