1 dead in crash involving pedestrian in Spartanburg Co.
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Spartanburg County. The crash happened around 9:47 p.m. on Howard Street near Asheville Highway. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling west on Howard Street when it hit a pedestrian who was reportedly in the roadway. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the pedestrian was struck near their office. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has not identified the deceased at this time. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
