1 dead following motorcycle crash along Highway 100 in Bellevue
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A motorcyclist has died after authorities said he crashed into a SUV that was pulling out of Edwin Warner Park in Bellevue Saturday evening. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the collision occurred in the 7300 block of Highway 100 around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28. Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates 22-year-old Colby Chase was riding his Suzuki GSX along Highway 100 when he hit the driver's side of a BMW SUV that was making a left turn out of the park. Chase was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries, but on Sunday, March 1, law enforcement announced he had died. Meanwhile, another motorcyclist ended up with minor injuries after laying his bike down to avoid the crash, according to authorities. Police said the people inside the BMW -- including the driver, who reported he didn't see Chase prior to the collision -- were not injured. No additional details have been released about the ongoing investigation into Saturday's crash.
