1 dead, 1 injured after pursuit leads to crash into residence: VSP
Virginia State Police (VSP) said a 28-year-old died after a crash in Bedford County. VSP said they are investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Saturday at 1:21 a.m. on Cotton Town Road, one-half of a mile south of Turner Road in Bedford County, VSP said. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a 2013 BMW 335 for speeding. The vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit began. The vehicle lost control on Cotton Town Road, ran off the right side of the roadway, and hit a residence, according to VSP. SEE ALSO: Suspect in fatal shooting of Carroll County deputy captured in North Carolina VSP said the 28-year-old passenger, Ke’Eric Kashawn Davis, of Lynchburg, was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver of the BMW was taken to a Lynchburg hospital for injuries received in the crash, VSP said. Charges are pending, and there were no injuries in the residence, according to VSP. The crash remains under investigation, VSP said.
