1 dead, 1 hospitalized after 2-car crash on Oregon highway
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 51-year-old La Grande man died on Sunday afternoon after a head-on crash on Hwy 97, Oregon State Police announced. The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. near milepost 102 in Jefferson County. Investigators say Aaron Bottorff was driving a Subaru Forester north on the highway when he crossed over into the southbound lane for unknown reasons, striking a Jeep Cherokee. Bottorff was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was taken to a local hospital after suffering minor injuries.
