Woman killed in Santa Fe County crash; man charged

SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is facing multiple charges following a crash in Santa Fe County that left a woman dead over the weekend. Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the crash involving a Nissan Altima and a Toyota pickup truck on U.S. 285 and Avenida Eldorado at 4:25 p.m. While as the scene, deputies and other first responders provided life-saving care to the driver of the Toyota, later identified as 64-year-old Lisa Bransford, who had been ejected from her truck. Bransford was taken to Christus St. Vincent’s Hospital where she died due to her injuries. The driver of the Nissan, 21-year-old Jaydin Loretto has been charged with homicide by motor vehicle resulting in death (DWI), reckless driving and driving while license revoked (DWI related). Loretto was also taken to the hospital and was later booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility. The investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed, the sheriff's office said.
