Woman in critical condition after Jet Ski crashed into dock on Onota Lake

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 33-year-old woman is in critical condition on Wednesday after the Jet Ski she was operating crashed into a dock on Onota Lake. According to Pittsfield fire officials, fire crews were called to the rear of a property on Blythewood Drive just after 4 p.m. for a reported water rescue. When crews arrived, they found that a Jet Ski-style personal watercraft had collided with a shoreline dock at a high rate of speed. The operator, a 33-year-old woman, was found unresponsive in the water with serious injuries. Pittsfield Fire Department personnel and County Ambulance crews provided lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting the woman to Berkshire Medical Center. Her condition was unknown as of Wednesday evening. Officials said the crash is under investigation by the Pittsfield Police Department and the Massachusetts Environmental Police. The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of her family. Fire officials also thanked bystanders who came to the woman's aid before first responders arrived.
