Woman from Salem dies in kayaking accident on Current River
A kayaker from Salem tragically passed away in an incident on the Current River in Shannon County, Missouri. As reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 63-year-old woman was kayaking below Cave Spring when she collided with a fallen tree, causing her kayak to capsize. Despite efforts by individuals nearby to rescue her, she could not be revived, and was declared deceased by the Shannon County Coroner. The National Park Service collaborated with the MSHP in the investigation of this drowning.
