Woman dies in crash across from Lantana Airport

A 52-year-old Lake Worth Beach woman died when her 2014 Nissan Sentra crashed into an oncoming 2020 BMW 330i while making a left turn across from Lantana Airport, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded at about 11:05 a.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of Lantana Road, across from Lantana Airport. Marbelia Espinoza was traveling westbound on Lantana Road when she attempted to turn left onto an access road, PBSO said. Her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by the BMW, driven by a 20-year-old Lake Worth woman. Both vehicles went off the roadway and into a grassy area. Espinoza, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and her 19-year-old passenger, a West Palm Beach man wearing a seatbelt, had minor injuries. Alcohol or drugs were not marked in the crash report. Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25Get the latest news updates with the WPBF 25 News app. You can download it here.
