Woman dies after striking irrigation ditch off Oregon highway
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman is dead after she was involved in a single-car crash in Malheur County this week. Oregon State Police responded to the incident on Highway 210 near milepost 14 on Thursday just before 8:30 a.m. There they found a red Pontiac Vibe that had left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck an irrigation ditch. The car rolled over several times, according to police. Investigators believe the driver was traveling northbound on Highway 201 near Hyline Road and was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. No other people were inside the vehicle. The driver, 35-year-old Alisha Nicole Chaney of Payette, Idaho, was found dead at the scene.
