Woman dies after rollover crash near Winfield
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A woman was killed Friday morning in a rollover crash in southern Kansas. It happened about 7:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 160 near 21st Road, between Oxford and Winfield. An SUV rolled over, and the driver was ejected, according to the Cowley County Sheriff's Office. Witnesses stopped and helped the woman, 43-year-old Candice Bergeson of Winfield, until first responders arrived, the sheriff's office said. Bergeson was taken to a hospital in Winfield, where she later died of her injuries. The sheriff's office said the investigation has been completed, but authorities did not say what caused the crash.
