Woman dies after ejection in high-speed Fuquay-Varina rollover crash on Judd Parkway, police say
FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman is dead as a result of a single-vehicle crash in Fuquay-Varina, according to police. Officers said the crash occurred around 12:15 a.m. Sunday on Judd Parkway NW between Coley Farm Road and Wilbon Road. They said the first responding officers found the vehicle with "significant damage" off the road and only two of the three passengers were inside. "Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle several feet off the roadway that had sustained significant damage and appeared to have rolled multiple times," the police said in a news release. "The driver, an adult male, and the front seat passenger, an adult female, both sustained apparent injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment." Officers said a third person, a woman who was riding in the back seat, was located and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. "Initial findings from the ongoing investigation suggest that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over several times before coming to a stop," the news release said.
