Woman charged in fatal Jackson DUI crash acquitted
UPDATE: JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – After jury deliberations, Jada Kelly was found not guilty on two counts of aggravated DUI. JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jury deliberations are underway in the trial of the woman accused of killing two people during a drunk driving crash in Jackson. Closing arguments were delivered to the jury on Tuesday morning. During the trial, Jada Kelly waived her right to testify in her own defense. She has been charged with aggravated DUI. The crash occurred around 3:00 a.m. on January 15, 2024, at the intersection of Interstate 55 North Frontage Road and Canton Mart Road. Police said Azure Higgins, 46, and Valerie Lynch, 43, were killed in the crash. Investigators said Kelly had a blood alcohol level of 0.18. The legal limit is 0.08.
