Woman accused of DUI in deadly wrong-way Collier County crash requests release for rehab
Genise Taylor, the 24-year-old woman accused of DUI and killing 96-year-old Arthur Gilbert in a wrong-way crash on I-75 in March, has requested a Collier County judge to let her leave jail for rehab. Taylor’s lawyer said in court that he filed a motion for the judge to consider her release for treatment. She is being held without bond on charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI damage to person/property, vehicular homicide and reckless driving with damage to person/property. Troopers said Taylor is accused of crashing into Gilbert on March 18 and that her blood alcohol level was reportedly more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit. A judge has not yet ruled on the request.Previous coverage:Genise Taylor, woman accused of fatal wrong-way DUI crash on I-75, pleads not guilty Genise Taylor, suspect in fatal wrong-way I-75 crash, faces 3 new chargesFamily honors Arthur Gilbert’s life after deadly wrong-way I-75 crash in Collier CountyFamily of victim who was killed in deadly wrong-way I-75 crash working with attorney 'It was a cop that I knew': Suspect's jail call reveals details before deadly wrong-way I-75 crashWoman arrested for deadly I-75 crash was stopped for going 71 mph in a 45 on US-41 hours beforeWoman accused of deadly wrong-way DUI crash on I-75 in Collier County had a BAC of 0.213, FHP saysWrong-way driver arrested after crash kills man on I-75 in Collier CountyDOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
