Woman, 20, Ejected from Vehicle and Fatally Injured
Correction: The recent tragic crash in Colorado Springs resulted in the loss of a young driver’s life. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt when she was thrown from her car and tragically killed on Monday, Dec. 8. Emergency responders were alerted to a rollover crash at North Carefree Circle and Inspiration Drive, where the driver was trapped under a vehicle. The 20-year-old woman was extricated from beneath the car by emergency crews but succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital. Although the police have ruled out alcohol, drugs, and speeding as contributing factors to the crash, they have emphasized the importance of wearing seatbelts. The Colorado Springs Police Department's major crash team is currently investigating the incident. Another driver involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Due to the collision, an intersection in the area was closed as police worked on the scene to investigate further.
