Winter Accident Caution from State Patrol
A fatal incident occurred on Monday morning when a dark SUV collided with a Waukesha County plow truck on I-94 near Springdale Road. Tragically, the driver of the SUV lost their life as a result of the crash. The plow operator escaped injury and assisted the other driver until emergency services arrived at the scene. Despite rescue attempts, the driver of the SUV passed away due to their injuries. Traffic diversions were implemented, leading to significant delays until the investigation was complete and the westbound lanes of the interstate were reopened later in the afternoon. Wisconsin State Patrol is actively looking into the circumstances of the collision in order to determine the cause. With further snowfall expected and more plow trucks operating on the roads soon, officials are reminding drivers to prioritize safety. Inspector Nathan Schwabenlander emphasized the importance of giving plow trucks ample space on the road as mandated by state law. While it’s common to see well-intentioned individuals stopping to assist in emergencies, it's crucial to prioritize personal safety and adhere to road regulations. Remembering to slow down and yield to plows and emergency vehicles not only shows courtesy but is a legal requirement that helps ensure the safety of everyone on the road. The identity of the deceased driver has not been disclosed by authorities at this time.
