Video: Suspects in wild smash-and-grab incident crash during two police pursuits in Orange County
A bold and daring robbery took place during daylight hours and was caught on camera. Law enforcement officials are searching for a minimum of three individuals involved in the incident. The suspects utilized a vehicle to forcefully enter a jewelry store in Anaheim Hills on a Friday afternoon. The store's owner, Ramcy Tabelo, recounted the terrifying experience as "Eight to ten guys with masks, trash cans, crowbars, and hammers barged in and shattered every display case." The situation escalated further when one of the suspects seized Tabelo's firearm, causing him to fear for his safety. Following the robbery, the suspects hastily fled in two separate vehicles. Subsequent police pursuit led to both cars crashing, with the initial collision occurring at Lemon Street and Orangethorpe Avenue amidst multiple vehicles, and the second crash happening approximately five minutes later at Euclid Street and Malvern Avenue as reported by the Fullerton Police Department. Upon examining the vehicles, law enforcement discovered trays filled with stolen jewelry. A witness described seeing a black box loaded with diamonds and jewels on top of one of the cars, describing the situation as "pretty crazy." At the scene of the first collision, four suspects escaped on foot, while those involved in the second crash also fled. At the time of reporting, five suspects were under custody, with the authorities still in pursuit of three others.
