VIDEO: Semi-truck engulfed in flames after violent freeway crash in Los Angeles

Video shows the moments a semi-truck caught fire after a violent collision on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles overnight.  The crash occurred on the southbound 5 near Indiana Street in Boyle Heights around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, preliminary information indicates.  It appeared that the 18-wheeler involved struck a vehicle and crashed into the right shoulder before bursting into flames.   According to reports from news stringer service ANG News, witnesses to the crash pulled the truck driver out of the semi. This detail was not confirmed by law enforcement. A SigAlert was issued for the southbound 5 Freeway near Indiana Street stating the Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 lanes would be shut down for most of Saturday morning in the wake of the crash. Shortly before 9 a.m., it was announced that the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes were opened. There was no immediate word on any injuries, and if so, the extent of the injuries.  What caused the crash was also not clear right away.
