Victims of crash involving semi-truck and Corvette identified

EDRA, Utah (ABC4) — Police have identified the two victims of a fatal crash involving a semi-truck and corvette that occurred on Wednesday On Wednesday, just before 10 a.m., a Corvette turned in front of a Freightliner Semi near SR-179 and Parachute Park Lane in Erda, leading to a collision between the two vehicles, according to Utah Highway Patrol. UHP confirmed that the driver and passenger of the Corvette were killed in the crash. The driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Officials have since identified both victims. The driver of the Corvette was 66-year-old Robert Chato Rainwater. The passenger was 65-year-old Alan Boyd Anderson. Both individuals were local to Tooele, according to UHP. Police have not publicly identified the semi-truck driver at this time. Following the incident, SR-179 was closed for several hours at the intersection at Parachute Park Lane.
