Vehicle plunges into 12 ft ditch in Bengaluru; occupants suffer minor injuries

A car carrying four passengers veered into a 12-foot ditch on the Gandhi Bazaar Main Road in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, the driver and passengers received only minor injuries, as per officials at the Basavanagudi police station. The incident occurred around 11 am near the Cosmos Cooperative Bank when a parking attempt by a construction site led to the mishap. The absence of safety barricades at the site posed a risk to motorists and pedestrians, resulting in the injuries. A joint effort between the police and local residents successfully rescued the passengers and retrieved the car using metal chains. Fortunately, the passengers escaped with only minor injuries. The swift rescue operation prevented any serious harm, and no legal case was filed since the accident was deemed self-inflicted.
