Upstate man killed, 3 injured in Greenville Co. crash

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- An Upstate man was killed, and three passengers were injured in a single-vehicle crash reported in Greenville County. The Greenville County Coroner's Office reported that 28-year-old Michael Jaylen Coleman, of Duncan, died in a single-vehicle collision on Tuesday night, June 2. The SC Highway Patrol responded to the crash that occurred at around 9:25 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer. Troopers said a 2013 Chrysler 300, driven by Coleman, was turning left from Valley Road onto East Main Street when the vehicle hit a curb, ran off the left side of the road, and struck a ditch and then a tree. Following these impacts, the Chrysler overturned. First responders were called to the scene of the collision, where Coleman was pronounced dead. Three passengers were transported by EMS for their injuries following the crash. The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified Coleman and ruled his death an accident caused by blunt force injuries. An external examination is scheduled to be performed on Wednesday. The incident remains under active investigation by the Greenville County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
