Upstate man dies weeks after skateboarding accident

WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (WSPA) - A man has died weeks after a skateboarding accident in Anderson County, according to the coroner's office. On Monday March 9, Anderson County dispatch received a call for a fall on W Main Street in Williamston. Upon arrival, one victim was found on the roadway. The victim was treated on scene and flown to Prisma Greenville. The victim later died on Tuesday March 24. An investigation revealed the victim was riding his skateboard when he struck an object in the roadway, which caused him to fall and hit his head. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Troy Adam Link of Williamston. The cause of death was listed as traumatic brain injury, and the manner of death was ruled as accidental. The incident remains under investigation by the Anderson County Coroner's Office and the Williamston Police Department.
