New information has been provided regarding a tragic car accident in Donna, Texas that resulted in the death of a teenager. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a 16-year-old lost their life in a collision involving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze on Tuesday. The crash, which occurred on the 600 block of East Expressway 83 around 5:33 p.m., left two other teenagers injured. The names of those involved have not been disclosed out of consideration for the grieving family. Donna police and the Texas Department of Public Safety are conducting an investigation into the incident. As part of their probe, a section of the expressway in Donna will be closed on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for further examination. Westbound lanes of the expressway near the State Spur 433 (Main Street) exit and the on-ramp east of State Spur 433 will be affected, with traffic being redirected to the frontage road. Authorities advise drivers to seek alternative routes and are placing digital message boards to notify motorists of the closure.
