Highway 81 closed for hours due to Daviess County crash.
A collision in Daviess County has caused the closure of a road for an extended period of time. Authorities from the Daviess County Sheriff's Office report that a crash occurred in the 7100 block of Highway 81. Sheriff Brad Youngman stated that an initial examination of the accident revealed that a northbound vehicle veered off the road near the Dollar General Store and collided with multiple utilities, including a phone pole and a gas line, resulting in the disruption of services and a gas leak. The driver has been hospitalized with a suspected head injury. Traffic is currently being rerouted to Keller Road and Highway 554.
