Update: Fatal Accident on Saukville Causes Closure of I-43

As of 10:30 p.m. on 11/26/2025, tragically one person was killed and four others were injured in a crash on I-43. According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office, a semi-truck on I-43 lost control and veered into the opposite lanes, resulting in multiple collisions. A Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van driver died at the scene, while a Ford Fusion driver sustained life-threatening injuries. Additionally, a Subaru Forester with three occupants also suffered severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The status of the semi-truck driver remains unclear. All northbound lanes of I-43 were closed near State Highway 33 for over five hours. Updates provided later on revealed that I-43 North has reopened at WIS 33, but I-43 South remained closed between County D and County LL due to a separate crash involving a jackknifed semi-trailer. Traffic is affected in these areas, and authorities estimate the closures to persist for at least two hours.
