UPDATE: 74-year-old man killed in pickup vs. pedestrian crash
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A pickup struck a pedestrian who died Friday morning at the intesection of West 49th Street and South Marion Road Friday morning, police said. Sioux Falls Police Department Sgt. Aaron Benson said officers and emergency responders were dispatched around 7:20 a.m. Friday for a pickup vs. pedestrian crash. A 74-year-old Sioux Falls resident was crossing Marion when a 2019 Ram truck traveling on 49th Street turned south on Marion and hit the victim. Speed or driving while impaired were not factors in the crash, police say. The intersection had been closed because of the crash. The investigation is still ongoing.
