‘Unbelievable pain’: School mourns loss of boy killed in Parlier crash

PARLIER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A local school is mourning the loss of a boy after he was fatally struck by a vehicle in Parlier early Tuesday evening. "Our hearts are broken for the family of “Gio”. The Immanuel community loved Gio, andwe lift up his brother Ramon and his family in prayer. Life is so precious, and when it iscut short like Gio’s, it is tragic," Immanuel Schools in Reedley said in a statement. The victim of the crash was later officially identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office. The collision happened around 5:45 p.m. on Mendicino Avenue between Parlier and Manning avenues. At the time, a crowd gathered at the scene as multiple allied agencies conducted their investigation. "At Immanuel, we stand on the truth that God is the God of all comfort and peace. During this time of unbelievable pain and sorrow for his family and our community, we lean into that truth. Please join us in praying for the family during this time of loss," the statement concluded. The school says they have pastors on campus to help counsel students as they mourn this loss. The circumstances leading up to the crash and additional details have not been officially released.
