Two people killed in fatal accident in Vermilion Parish
A tragic single-vehicle accident in Vermilion Parish has led to the loss of two lives. Louisiana State Police initiated an investigation of the incident that occurred late Friday night on LA 14 near Fore Road. The crash resulted in the fatalities of Brian Mayard, 69, from Abbeville, and Guy McNeil, 45, from Youngsville. Reports indicate that Mayard was driving a Chevrolet Corvette at a high speed when the vehicle veered off the road, went into a ditch, struck a culvert, and overturned. Both individuals were not wearing seat belts and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Officials are conducting further inquiries as part of the ongoing investigation.
