Two killed in Pennsylvania multi-vehicle highway crash

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two people were killed Wednesday morning in a crash on Pennsylvania Route 22. According to state police, the incident happened at 8:35 a.m. in West Wheatfield Township in Indiana County when the driver of a 2001 Ford drove through a stop sign on Bowser Road. As the Ford was entering Route 22 west, a 2018 Peterbilt truck in the eastbound lane hit the car. This caused the Ford to collide with a 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer in the westbound lane. The driver of the Peterbilt was taken to Conemaugh hospital for suspected injuries, while the driver of the tractor-trailer sustained only minor injuries but was also taken by EMS personnel to an area hospital.
