Two injured in traffic collision in downtown Chicago, according to authorities

Two individuals were hospitalized following a collision in the Loop on Sunday morning. The incident occurred before 8 a.m. in the 100 block of South Columbus Drive. According to the Chicago police, the crash involved a driver traveling eastbound on Monroe who disregarded a red light and collided with another vehicle moving northbound on Columbus Drive. The 19-year-old driver of the first vehicle sustained a forehead cut and was transported to Stroger Hospital. The 47-year-old driver of the second vehicle was taken to Northwestern Hospital in stable condition for evaluation. No additional injuries were documented, and citations are expected to be issued.
