Two dead after car lands on its top in southeast Iowa crash
LEE COUNTY, Iowa -- Two people were killed late Saturday during a single-vehicle crash in southeast Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. along the 1600 block of Green Bay Road, near Wever, when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the ditch, where it struck an embankment and came to rest on its top in a field. Authorities say the driver, a 61-year-old from Fort Madison, and the passenger, a 50-year-old from Wever, were both killed in the crash. Iowa State Patrol says the names are being withheld at this time.
