Troopers investigating fatal crash in Lewis County, KY
LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WOWK) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Kentucky Route 10 around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. According to the KSP, a Ford F-250 was traveling West on KY 10 near Harrison Hollow Road and attempted to pass a vehicle in a passing zone by crossing into the eastbound lane. The F-250 then struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on. Troopers identified the victim as 21-year-old Charles A. Corns of Garrison, KY. It is unclear which vehicle Corns was in during the crash. Three others were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Heavy fog causing low visibility was reported in the area at the time of the crash. KSP, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, and Lewis County Fire and EMS responded. Troopers say they are reconstructing the crash as part of the investigation.
