Troopers halt search for details on fatal I-85 accident
South Carolina Highway Patrol has announced they will no longer be seeking information from the public regarding a tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday on I-85. The incident, which took place shortly after midnight on the northbound side of the highway near mile marker 59 in Spartanburg County, involved a moped and a Volkswagen Tijuan SUV. Initially reported as a hit-and-run, officials later clarified that it was not, revealing that five vehicles had been involved but all remained at the scene. The victim, identified as 35-year-old David Joseph Moreno of Greenwood, tragically passed away at the scene.
