TRAFFIC ALERT: Southbound I-15 closed near Payson after deadly crash
PAYSON, Utah (ABC4) -- Southbound I-15 is closed in Payson after a deadly accident, and it is expected to be closed for several hours. According to Cpl. Heywood with the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near mile marker 251 on I-15. Heywood confirmed that the crash was fatal, but the number of victims was not yet clear. "Use an alternate route. Expect heavy delays in the area," the Utah Department of Transportation said in a traffic alert. Heywood told ABC4.com that traffic is being diverted to exit 253, and all southbound lanes will be closed for at least an hour. It is unclear when the road is expected to reopen.
