A 17-year-old motorcyclist tragically lost his life in a collision with a dump truck on Interstate 75 near Wesley Chapel, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. near the 279-mile marker when the motorcyclist changed lanes and came into contact with the passenger side of a tractor-trailer just north of County Road 54. Following the impact, the motorcyclist overturned and was then struck by the undercarriage of the tractor-trailer. The teenager succumbed to their injuries at the scene. FL511 cameras captured a fire truck blocking all lanes on the interstate at 10:30 a.m., with traffic eventually being allowed to pass the crash site using a shoulder opening implemented by crew members around 11:30 a.m.
