Three injured in multi-car collision shuts down I-70 in Downtown Columbus
In Downtown Columbus, Ohio, a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 earlier today has resulted in three individuals being taken to the hospital. The accident involved two semi-trucks and a sedan on the westbound lanes, just east of the I-70/71 split. While two of the injured are in stable condition, one is listed as critical. Police have requested a Hazmat team due to concerns of a fuel leak, prompting the closure of the highway in the downtown area. Traffic is being diverted to I-71 North, with no estimated time for the westbound lanes to reopen; however, I-70 East remains unaffected.
