Towson High School student dies in bicycle accident

A junior at Towson High School has died after succumbing to injuries from a bicycle accident from last Tuesday.According to Baltimore County Police, on May 5, around 5:30 p.m., a bicyclist was traveling along West Joppa Road and attempting to make a left onto Abell Ridge Drive when a crash occurred with a vehicle. The victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and on the evening of May 7, the 16-year-old was pronounced dead. Police identified the victim as Alex Norenberg and a letter from the principal, Kimberly Culbertson was sent to parents of Towson students that states: "It is with great sorrow that we share that Alexander Norenberg died yesterday following an accident. Alex was a member of the junior class and was known by his peers and staff for his kindness, curiosity, and incredible work ethic.""This unexpected and tragic news has been very upsetting to our students and staff. Our school counselors have been working with many students individually and in small groups to provide support as students process this loss."
