Tori Spelling Thanks First Responders, ‘Guardian Angels’ After Car Crash Sent Her, 7 Children to Hospital
Tori Spelling said she is feeling grateful after a car accident she was involved in last week while driving four of her children and three of their friends "could have been so much worse." “We’re OK, but it’s been really overwhelming,” she said in an Instagram video April 7. “We are so grateful and so lucky because it could have been so much worse.” The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, who has five children between the ages of 9 and 19 with ex-husband Dean McDermott, said the side of her car was hit. "Guardian angels were definitely with us that day because in a split second, I looked to my right and I saw he was coming full on, full impact into the side of our car," Spelling said. "And I turned hard and left as hard as I could, as fast as I could, to avoid as much impact on children as possible. He spun us out." The actor's spokesperson confirmed to NBC News she and the children were taken to the hospital after the crash, which occurred in Temecula, California. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office previously told NBC News that deputies responding to the scene on Thursday, April 2, found two cars with damage. No arrests were made and the collision is under investigation. TODAY.com has reached out to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office for further comment. In her video, Spelling thanked first responders, the staff at the emergency room who “took such great care of all of the kids and myself” and those who have contacted her. “I’m grateful to everyone who has reached out and repeatedly checked in on us and offered to do whatever we needed to get us through this and all the blessings everyone has sent,” she said. Spelling finished the clip by expressing “so much gratitude for life and bravery of all of the kids in the car with what they went through.” Spelling was previously involved in a car crash in 2011 when she was pregnant with her third child. She said she was trying to avoid photographers who were following her. “Paparazzi chased me w/the kids 2school. I was trying to get away from him and had a pretty big accident. Took down whole wall of school,” she tweeted.
