Three killed in July 1 head-on crash on Briceville Highway
ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Three people are dead after a crash on Briceville Highway ended in flames. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the preliminary report for a fatal crash that occurred near 1077 Briceville Highway at 1:01 p.m. on July 1. According to the report, a BMW was going north when it crossed the center line into the southbound lanes and struck a Nissan Rogue head-on. The BMW then came to a stop on its top and was fully engulfed in flames. THP said both drivers and the passenger in the BMW were dead when first responders arrived on the scene. The report added that it was unknown if the two people inside the BMW were wearing seatbelts. THP's Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was requested to help investigate the crash. This team assists federal, state, and local agencies in traffic crash investigations and incident scene documentation. They have access to advanced tools and equipment to support their investigations.
