Three Killed in Burnett County Crash Involving Pickup, UTV
BURNETT COUNTY — Three people were killed in a crash involving a pickup truck and UTV at a rural intersection Saturday evening, according to the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office. PRESS RELEASE On June 27, 2026, at approximately 6:38 p.m., Burnett County Dispatch received a report of a truck versus UTV crash at the intersection of County Highway A and Connors Bridge Road. Law enforcement, EMS, and fire resources were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that a white Dodge pickup truck, driven by Ashton Erickson, 21, of Webster, WI, was traveling westbound on County Highway A. A UTV was traveling northbound on Connors Bridge Road and failed to stop at the stop sign, entering the path of the pickup and causing a collision. The driver and two passengers of the UTV were pronounced deceased at the scene. They have been identified as Gary Shreindl, 69, of Anoka, MN, who was operating the UTV, and passengers Constance Klatt, 68, of Anoka, MN, and Debra Nye, 69, of Lodi, OH. Following the crash, the Dodge pickup caught fire and was later extinguished. The driver of the pickup was transported to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The Wisconsin DNR was contacted to assist with crash reconstruction. County Highway A remained closed for approximately five hours following the incident. This incident remains under investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
