Three individuals sustain severe injuries in crash on West 20th Street.
Three individuals were seriously hurt in a traffic collision that occurred on West 20th Street, two miles west of Joplin, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Chevy 2500 pickup truck traveling west veered across the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound passenger car. The car's 66-year-old female driver, along with a 37-year-old female passenger and a 16-year-old girl, all residents of Galena, Kansas, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a Joplin hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the 59-year-old male driver of the pickup, who is from Joplin, did not sustain any injuries.
