Three dead in collision inferno on Ohio freeway.
A tragic accident occurred in Darke County, Ohio, on Friday morning, resulting in the loss of three lives. The Darke County Sheriff's Office reported that a collision involving three vehicles took place on State Route 49 at approximately 7:30 a.m. First responders arrived to find two vehicles fully engulfed in flames. A cargo van, crossing the centerline while heading north on State Route 49, struck a medical transport bus traveling south, before colliding with a sedan further down the road. Unfortunately, two individuals in the cargo van did not survive, while the bus driver, identified as Chris Bemis from St. Marys, passed away after being airlifted to a local hospital. The community mourned his loss, as expressed in a statement by his employer, Spirit EMS. Additional passengers involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. The roadway was closed for five hours for investigation by law enforcement authorities.
