Teen dies in skiing accident in Mississippi

A 14-year-old teenager from Mississippi tragically lost his life in a ski accident at Goat Island in Iuka over the Memorial Day weekend. The young boy, Jackson Marlar, was involved in a collision between two jets and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Hardin County, Tennessee. The Corinth School District, where Jackson was a student, expressed deep sorrow upon hearing of his passing and issued a statement offering support to his family and friends during this difficult time. Jackson's funeral service took place at the First Methodist Church of Corinth, with his final resting place at Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut. Jackson was known for his positive impact on those around him and his enthusiastic involvement in various school activities and community organizations, including being an active member of his church, achieving academic excellence, playing sports, and participating in Boy Scouts of America Troop 27. Jackson is fondly remembered by his teachers for his kind-hearted nature, hard work ethic, and bright personality. He is survived by his parents, younger brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous beloved friends and family members. The community mourns the loss of this young, vibrant soul, and Jackson will be greatly missed.
