Teen cyclist in life-threatening condition after crash
ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The Allen County Sheriff's Department is investigating a crash that left a juvenile in life-threatening condition. According to a press release from ACSD, Officers responded to West Cedar Canyons Road, just west of Kell Road, on Tuesday at 4:37 p.m. for reports of a crash with injuries. Once on scene, officers were met with a car and a bicyclist near the intersection of Pufferbelly Trail and West Cedar Canyons Road. Emergency personnel transported the cyclist to a nearby hospital in serious condition, and at the hospital, professionals determined them to be in a life-threatening condition. Preliminary investigation indicated that the bicyclist was traveling north on the Pufferbelly Trail and failed to stop for traffic on West Cedar Canyons Road. A car traveling east on West Cedar Canyons Road struck the bicyclist, who was not wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
