Syracuse man held for fatal Sullivan accident in July

A man from Syracuse has been taken into custody in connection with a tragic accident that occurred in Sullivan back in July. The incident involved a jeep that had overturned, resulting in the ejection of three individuals. Robert Echols, 21 years old, who was identified as the driver, and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle following the accident on State Route 31. Sadly, one of the passengers, 22-year-old Kiara Coello, lost her life at the scene. Echols and the other passenger, 21-year-old Secret Davis, suffered injuries and were taken to Upstate Medical Hospital for treatment. Following a lengthy investigation, it was discovered that Echols had been driving under the influence at the time of the crash. Consequently, Echols was apprehended last week on a Superior Court Indictment Warrant and is presently facing charges. He appeared in Madison County Court following his arrest and has been detained at Madison County Jail in Wampsville on a $5,000 cash bail.
