Suspect detained for fatal crash in Butler County

A man has been apprehended in Indiana nearly a month after a tragic crash in Butler County resulted in the deaths of a Wichita man, his teenage son, and his nephew. The 24-year-old suspect from Louisiana was arrested in Beech Grove, situated in the Indianapolis area on July 9. Allegedly, he was driving a pickup truck that crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 400, colliding with a vehicle carrying the victims. The crash took place on June 11, claiming the lives of three individuals. The driver faces multiple charges, including three counts of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery. Investigators suspect alcohol may have played a role in the incident, pending toxicology reports. The arrest was the outcome of a collaborative effort between the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana State Police, and the Beech Grove Police Department.
