A man is dead after the car he was driving crashed into a home in Hanson, Massachusetts, Monday evening. First responders were called to 481 High St. just before 6:30 p.m. and found the victim's vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck, rolled over on its side. The truck had crashed into the front windows of the home. The driver, a 57-year-old man from Hanson, was unconscious inside the truck. Hanson Police Chief Michael Casey said the homeowner was inside when the crash happened. "He indicated that he usually sits in that room, but he indicated that, because it was a nice day, he was sitting in the sunroom," Casey said.Chris Briggs, who lives nearby, said he was in his yard Monday evening when he heard the crash. "It was loud. It sounded like a dump truck dropping something off almost most but it sounded louder," Briggs said. "I ran over the hill over here on the side yard and could see a car through the front of the house across the street, so I just ran over and called."Briggs said neighbors ran to try to help the man behind the wheel. "A couple of people jumped on top and tried to go through the passenger side, all the airbags were deployed, so they tried to see if they could get him to respond at all," Briggs said.Photos of the scene showed the car turned over on its side, with major damage to the home's front exterior and parts of the interior. High Street between Holmes and Main streets is currently closed due to the crash. Drivers have been advised to seek alternate routes. The crash is under investigation by the Hanson Police Department, Plymouth County District Attorney's Office and the Massachusetts State Police.
