Stolen vehicle crashes into South Chicago restaurant.

A car that was stolen in a carjacking incident crashed into Maxwell Street Grill in South Chicago during the night. Footage from the location shows the vehicle partially inside the severely damaged building, with a toppled light pole on top of it. It seems that all the airbags were triggered due to the impact of the crash. An individual informed CBS News Chicago that his car was taken during a carjacking at the intersection of 95th Street and Parnell Street. Following the theft, he walked to a nearby CTA Red Line station to inform the police. Later on, he received a call from law enforcement informing him that his car had been in a serious accident at 79th Street and Stony Island Avenue at Maxwell Street Grill. Further information about the crash has not been disclosed by Chicago police. The CTA has indicated that the No. 30 South Chicago buses are being temporarily rerouted due to the street closures around the crash site. This is an ongoing story, and CBS News Chicago will continue to offer updates as they become available.
