Springfield resident faces charges in deadly Stone County collision.

A man from Springfield, Missouri, is facing charges after a deadly accident that took place in Stone County on August 2, 2024. According to court records, Daniel Drewry, age 77, is being charged with second-degree involuntary manslaughter. The incident involved a collision between Drewry, driving a 2020 Ford F150, and a person on a Dynacraft Blade bicycle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that the accident occurred on Route K in Stone County as both parties were heading northbound. Drewry's vehicle collided with the bicycle, causing the rider to be thrown from the bike. Tragically, the cyclist did not survive the injuries sustained and passed away in the hospital. MSHP investigators noted that Drewry mentioned he was attempting to make a phone call at the time of the accident when they interviewed him at his home. A warrant for his arrest has been issued with a bond set at $20,000.
